Which books to use

At the heart of the highly successful Singapore’s Maths and Science programmes are the Primary Mathematics and My Pals are Here series. Primary Mathematics has been co-published by the Singapore Ministry of Education and Marshall Cavendish since the 1980s. The latest series, My Pals are Here, is published by Marshall Cavendish under the curriculum guidelines from the Ministry of Education and is now the most popular choice for schools in Singapore.

There is an increasing number of UK and European schools using textbooks and workbooks from Singapore. The books come with a wide variety of teaching guides, posters and manipulatives. All programmes use UK English spelling and the metric system.

Years 1 - 6

Mathematics

Both the Primary Mathematics 3rd edition and the My Pals are Here 2nd edition Mathematics can be used successfully from years one to six. Schools just starting out with the programme may wish to consider using My Pals are Here series, as the Primary Mathematics series will eventually be phased out. We are committed to supplying both series as long as they are available from the publishers.There is also more supplementary material available with My Pals: such as Homework books, Test books, Teaching Guides and Enrichment books (for students who need extra challenges) and Re-Teach books (for students needing reinforcement).

English

We can provide a wide range of English books from the My Pals are Here English series. These books are very popular with European schools teaching English.

Science

My Pals are here Science first edition. These books start at year 3, as this is when Science begins in schools in Singapore.

Secondary 1 - 5

Mathematics

We now offer the New Mathematics Counts series for secondary 1 to 5 (years 7 to 12). These books are designed to prepare students for the Joint Cambridge University and Singapore O level college entrance examination at the end of their fourth year.The system is comparable to the UK GCSE exam.
